Tver:

A walking tour and a visit to Tver’s life Museum

1. A walking tour and a visit to Tver’s life Museum

Duration: 3 hours
Group: 15 people or less

You will hear a thrilling story about foundation of monasteries and cathedrals in the center of Tver. You will find out interesting information about outstanding personalities, who glorified their home town and native land. You will pay attention to unusual architecture of the center of the town and its famous architectures, who built Tver at the time of Katherine the Great. You will learn some historical facts as well as facts about contemporary life in Tver. We hope, you will think about visiting this town one more time!

Myshkin:

Myshkin

1. A walking tour “Myshkin – is a merchants’ town”

Duration: 3 hours
Group: 15 people or less

A walk around the town is pleasant and interesting in any season. A nice welcome waits for the tourists – Myshkin is famous for its hospitality.
During your walking tour you will visit a cottage of the XIX century of merchant T.V.Chistov. The merchant’s cottage is remarkable for its decoration and a library, which belonged to a grandson of M.I.Kutuzov, and a wonderful collection of old ovens decorated with ceramic elements from St. Petersburg. Besides, there is the Aleksandrovskiy hall, where there was a reception for the Emperor Alexander III.
A long time ago merchant Chistov had a wind mill, where three expositions are presented:
“The barn mice” – old mill’s equipment, guarded by big mice;
“A merchant’s stall” helps to transfer tourists to the XIX century and present more facts about a merchant’s family life;
“A life tree” – many centuries history of wooden utensil’s creation comes to life.
A picture gallery, an exhibition and sale of the artists of Myshkin welcome you.
At the end of the walking tour you will get your impression of the town and the Volga river at thebird's-eye view from The Assumption cathedral.

2. A walking tour around Tver’s and a visit to Assumption cathedral, museums “Russian valenki”, “Crafts house” and an old wind mill.

Myshkin – is a small town, situated on the bank of the Volga river. You will be surprised, paying a visit to this place.
A magnificent assumption cathedral is located on a high hill. There is an ancient mural which is possible to call “3D graphics” today. Columns, ledges, pilasters and arches are depicted on the walls and seem to be real. But if you pay more attention – it will be clear, that all these is a masterpiece of an artist.
A miracle of another kind is waiting for you in the museum “Russian valenki”. You will find out how to make this traditional Russian warm boots. Interactive museum lovers will enjoy “Crafts house” museum. A blacksmith, a potter, a carpenter will teach you their crafts.
During your visit to the wind mill you will see a miracle how to change grain into flour, and you will have an opportunity to taste tea with local sweetness.

Uglich:

Uglich

1. A walking tour around Uglich and a visit to Hydroelectric power museum.

Duration: 2,5-3 hours

Uglich – is an ancient town on the bank of the Volga river. The name of the town goes back to the history and old traditions of Russia.
Uglich was included in the Golden Ring sightseeing in 2017 and it is one of the most favourite places to visit. Tourists are attracted by pleasant and friendly environment, peace and quiet, extremely beautiful architectural monuments and special museums.
This excursion will let you learn more about many centuries history of Uglich and admire old churches, situated in the Kremlin, visit Hydroelectric power museum, which was opened in 2006. There are 11 halls with exhibits. The guide will tell you about the history of hydroelectric power in the USSA and Russia, types of hydroelectric power stations. Besides, it is possible to watch water mill working. This museum – is a real interactive complex. Its motto is: “ Touch everything!”

2. A walking tour around the Uglich Kremlin and a visit to Transfiguration Cathedral and Bogoyavlenskiy convent.

Duration: 2,5-3 hours

An acquaintance with Uglich, its architecture and history of many centuries is waiting for you. A walk will start with a visit to the Kremlin, situated on a picturesque bank of the Volga river. There are prince’s chambers and one of the most ancient houses in Russia. Transfiguration Cathedral was built in the VXIII century and decorated by a group of artists with their leader, a peasant Timofey Medvedev. A lot of tourists admire the bible plots, which decorate the walls and look like the works of famous Renaissance artists. Besides, it is important to pay attention to six-tiered iconostasis with unique icons of the XVII-XVIII century.
Then, let us go to Bogoyavlenskiy convent, founded by the wife of Dmitriy Donskoy. The oldest temple of the convent – is the red wall church of Holy Virgin Smolenskaya icon.
A lot of tourists love this small town, included in the Golden Ring of Russia. Many of then come back to Uglich again and again. What is the secret? Well, you may answer this question when the excursion program is over.
